Career Change and Internal Navigation to Leadership Role with Negotiated Compensation and Title
Drew Cook has been a client who initiated a transition from managing golf clubs. I supported him through several professional iterations to where he is now as head of Global Commercial Operations at Megaport. I have often worked with Drew to clarify what he wants, what he offers, and where he is going. I can genuinely say that he has created a path for himself where there wasn't a path before. We worked through many challenging conversations to establish his internal values and stick with his personal brand and goals. This takes a lot of exploration, focus, and inspection of who he is, including talents and skills, and how to apply his strengths to the right objective, obstacle, or opportunity while managing up to a distributed leadership high-growth company. Drew is on a different trajectory now, well paid, and able to work in a position that capitalizes and values his unique contribution. He has also made many referrals to me, including his wife, who is currently working on a career change.

Re-entry after Lay-Off, Career Management, Marketing Plan, and Relocation
After his first year at SpaceX, Wade Smith and I engaged in a coaching relationship that ended with a mass layoff. We explored opportunities, interests, values, and goals and focused and prepared him with an individual marketing plan that yielded interviews and offers. We evaluated offers and negotiated for the best pay and geographical location that fit his personal life goals. Later, we worked together to refresh his job search strategy to facilitate relocation to LA to be near family and evaluated the risks/benefits of working with a start-up, discovering that it was an excellent fit for his skills and place in life.

Identified Personal Constraints and Opportunities and Established Verbal Marketing Strategy
Deanna McMillen may not seem like an apparent leader. Still, she is one of 12-14 professionals worldwide in Liquid-Based Holographic Products. I just received a note from her saying that what I taught her about working with her strengths and leveraging her valuable contributions still serves her well. She recently used her career management and marketing skills to land her current position at EOTECH. This company uses holographic technology to improve the accuracy of weapons for the military, law enforcement, and sports hunters. I supported her transition from Zebra here in Austin years ago. At the time, she struggled with the entire "go" or grow" decision and owned her marketable knowledge and accomplishments while improving her communication skills and emotional intelligence. Now, she is confident and mobile in her very tight market.

Strategy for Application, Interviews, and Confident Closes
Steve Stedman and I connected because he needed a reboot on his job search. After creating an outstanding product with his team for PayPal, the company moved the product to CA, closer to the "mothership." Since Steve wanted to stay in Austin, he needed to find a local opportunity, but he wasn't getting the traction that he desired with his job search. So we reworked the job search strategy, and he started getting interviews. We refined his approach to interviews, stories, and habits that showed the best of his skills, knowledge, achievements, and talents. His confidence started to shine through. He is now at Athena Health and too busy to return my calls, which is terrific!
