DeAnne will be presenting on how important it is to know WHY you want to own a business and how that message plays out in everything you touch as a business owner from your marketing, money, goals, products and customers, right down to your daily tasks. You will walk away with a better understanding of how your WHY fuels the practical side of your business plan and strategy on your journey as an entrepreneur. She will touch on the 7 Components you must have to create a profitable business and keep going.
DeAnne Pearson, M. Ed., A.C.C., has over 20 years of experience coaching people and organizations in defining their own unique recipe for success, personally and professionally. She takes great joy in helping people overcome perfectionism, fear and stagnation, to take action toward their goals and best lives. Her articles, editorials and interviews have appeared throughout the US and Europe, in publications such as, Better Homes and Gardens, Citi Bank’s Women and Company and Focus on Women. DeAnne has provided workshops and coaching at numerous national and state conferences and for major organizations including EBAY, Microsoft, SCORE and The Black MBA’s National Leadership Conference. DeAnne is a certified coach with the International Coaching Federation, lives in Austin, Texas, and enjoys coaching clients throughout the world.
Emily Morris – The Morris Law Firm, PLLC
Emily will discuss different business entity formation options, fleshing out the key pros and cons associated with each type of entity. Additionally, she will touch on employment law issues that frequently come up in the beginning stages of business operations.
Emily Morris is a transactional attorney dedicated to helping business owners in the common (and sometimes uncommon) issues that they encounter. From beginning stages to later growth and development, Emily enjoys applying a holistic approach to help business owners navigate the path to success. She has assisted businesses in many different industries, including technology, oil & gas, healthcare, manufacturing, real estate and other professional services. Emily received her undergraduate degree in Business Administration at Louisiana State University; concentrated on corporate and international issues while studying law at Tulane University; and has FINRA Series 65 and Series 6 licenses, in addition to being licensed by the State Bar of Texas. When she isn’t practicing law, Emily enjoys singing with Chorus Austin and two-stepping around the state of Texas.
Tim Plachta – Reliant Wealth Management
Tim will walk us through various financing options for the often-daunting retirement planning, as well as employee benefits packages. Additionally, Tim will provide sound advice for managing personal finances while in the beginning stages of operating a business.
Tim Plachta, CFP® is the president and founder of Reliant Wealth Management, LLC. His background is in business management, economics and education. Those who know him best say that he is committed, well-calculated and a dynamic thinker. Reliant Wealth Management was conceptualized after Tim’s second daughter, Ruby, was unexpectedly born with Down syndrome. The realization that he may have to help support her into adulthood made him realize he was financially unprepared. Through personal exploration of his own finances, Tim became equally passionate about helping others achieve their financial goals. As a result, Tim opened the doors of Reliant Wealth Management in Austin, Texas and now works with clients to navigate the many financial challenges they face in their lives.
