What is running through your head from 9-5 each Monday–Friday?
• I feel stuck.
• I am overwhelmed with work…I can’t do it anymore.
• I am under-challenged.
• How did I get here?
• I don’t have any choices. What am I to do?
• This is not what I thought it would be like.
• There just aren’t any opportunities out there for someone like me.
• Something else is calling me, but what is it? Should I do it?
Sounds like you are in a Plan B Career.
Then you think:
• This is not the time to change jobs because of the economy, the kids, etc.
• Only the people who are lucky get to do what they love and get paid for it.
• Who am I to expect more out of my career?
• I didn’t go to the right college or get the right degree.
• Am I smart enough, special enough or brave enough to do something else?
• All jobs are the same, I might as well just stay here.
If you do what most other people do when they are miserable in their job situation, you will go out and find people to support that stuck feeling. You will hang out with other people who are complaining about their current job or lack of a job, the economy; the unfairness of it all. You will look at job boards and pull up your old resume on your computer. Maybe you even upload that resume with a queasy feeling in your stomach into the cyber world of nothingness and in return you just hear crickets! That’s it, you will say…”Back to my desk, my cubicle” or whatever your “Coal Mine” looks like.
Does this sound like you?
If not, then maybe you have the job you really want, the one that speaks to your core and makes the life you want possible. But if you are not in the career you desire, you don’t feel successful; you aren’t fulfilled in your life or feel like you have a purpose. Then, you are probably going at this career part of your life BACKWARDS.
Yes, you have it all backwards and it is not your fault. I came to a realization in my 15+ years of career counseling and career coaching that most people start their search for a great career and for career satisfaction completely backwards. That is why I developed my business DeLiberate Careers! — To stop the backwards fitting-in madness that makes people feel like crap, keeps people lost and makes people feel adrift-separated from their brilliance and purpose.
Yes, backwards, the wrong way around, at the tail end….. It is not just you. We are taught to find a job opening or career title and do our best to fit ourselves, our lives, our family’s into that tiny little opening, that job opening.
Well I am here to tell you, that is all a lie! That is not how it works. I know…I have been there! I blamed myself for the career I was in right after college, thinking that if I worked harder, stayed later, or changed how I operated and who I was, then, I would be happy! You’ve got to cut that out…Stop trying to fit in!
Get the root of your success and that is you, your purpose, to find a career that supports the life you want down deep. It can be done. I have done it! Now, I help other people do the same thing without nearly the trouble and time wasted that I experienced.
So, I invite you to De-Liberate Yourself, to look at your career differently-as a possibility, not a problem:
1. You have a unique combination of experiences, skills and brilliance, that are completely your own. Some people won’t get you. That is okay. Different people like different music.
2. The world is a big place, but it doesn’t have to be scary. There is room for you, opportunities galore and freedom when you get DeLiberate about who you are and where you would like to go.
3. Purpose, you have a purpose, but it may not be any one job title, it may be a theme, that runs throughout your life like a thread or your theme song.
4. Success, you hear a lot about doing what you love and the money will follow. That is a lie! Success is very personal! It is not about money, title, the primo parking spot, what the Wall Street Journal tells you, what your college advisor or even what your dear gray-haired grandma said that success should be.
Success, what the heck is it?
Success is all about you! It is about having the career that makes the life you want possible. It has to start with you! That is the only way to start, anything else is backwards! I am not saying it is bad or wrong, but it is backwards.
One day could change your life!
If you can change everything you believe about your career woes in one day, what would that be like for you?
Listen, it took me years. I get it! I have been in the Plan B Career. I was dreaming of something else, but couldn’t let go of the job that was “good enough”, I didn’t know where to start or how to start. Then, I realized through trial, error and a little bit of stepping out on faith. Who has time for that? Do you?
So, here it is the game changer career and life changer! The weekend workshop that will get you turned around, turned on and singing the right career tune. That first step to your personal success. I am offering this full day workshop, sign up right now! Right here!

This is the workshop for you if:
• You are feeling stuck or lost in your current position and can’t find your tune.
• You feel like the people that you work with “don’t get you” or don’t appreciate you, leaving you feeling out of sync.
• You believe that all jobs are alike, it doesn’t matter what you do, or that you don’t matter…. like one more repetitive “pop song”.
• You are searching and searching for a job in the traditional backwards way of looking at job openings and uploading your resume to job boards. I call this method “same song, second verse”….
• Maybe the job you are in is just not working out anymore and you know that it is time to sing farewell to that “coal mine”.
It is time for a Tune-Up!
When you discover your career melody, you will be able to sing your song anywhere. You will be empowered to find the career that resonates with you and the people who are meant to be in your life will get with the beat! Okay, enough of the musical puns!
I am serious. This day will be life changing, clarifying and downright fun!
This, all in one amazing day? Yes!
